CHET ATKINS (1924-2001)

Guitarrista nacido en Luttrell, Tennessee el 20 de Junio de 1924, Chester Burton Atkins hizo numerosos álbumes instrumentales y grabó junto a muchos artistas como Hank Williams, The Everly Brothers y Elvis Presley.
Tocó la guitarra acompañando a Elvis en las sesiones de Enero, Abril y Junio de 1958 en Nashville. En 1960 fue manager en la RCA, y en 1968 llegó a la vicepresidencia. En 1973 entró el el Country Music Hall of Fame.
Cuando Elvis murió en 1977, Atkins dijo: Cuando llegó, era diferente en todos los aspectos. Creo que es una de las grandes razones por la que tuvo tanto impacto en el negocio de la música. Se vestía y se movía de diferente manera. Era impactante. Creo que algo como esto no ocurrirá de nuevo, al menos mientras viva. Tampoco creo que vuelva a haber otro como Él.

Guitarist born in Luttrell, Tennessee On June 20, 1924, Chester Burton Atkins did numerous instrumental álbums and recorded together with many artists as Hank Williams, The Everly Brothers and Elvis Presley.
He played the guitar accompanying Elvis in the seions of January, April and June, 1958 in Nashville. In 1960 he was manager in the RCA, and in 1968 he came to the vicepresidency. In 1973 he entered the Country Music Hall of Fame.
When Elvis died in 1977, Atkins said: When He came, he was different in all ways. I believe that it is one of the big reasons he had such great impact on the business.He dressed and moved in a different way. He was electrifying. I believe that something as this will not happen again, at least while I'm alive. Neither I believe there will be another like Him.
